Documentary Film Festival in the Netherlands
Internationally recognized documentary film festival in the Netherlands presenting competitive documentary programs. Academy Awards qualification applies to designated documentary short awards.
Premiere Requirements:
National Premiere
- Eligibility restricted to documentary films, including hybrid forms dealing with reality and relying on real elements.
- All sections require minimum Dutch national premiere at time of screening; prior screening, TV broadcast, or streaming availability in the Netherlands renders entry ineligible.
- Films of any duration accepted.
- Completed works only, post specified cutoff date; works-in-progress require picture-lock screener preferred, with only one version considered unless approved in writing.
- Previously rejected or considered films ineligible, even if revised.
- Submissions require completed entry form
- English-subtitled screener (unless original English)
- and high-resolution materials if selected: film stills (JPEG, min 5MB), EPK/credits list, high-res English-subtitled screener/trailer videos.
- Festival screening formats: DCP (2K/4K, XYZ colorspace, JPEG2000) for cinemas, or 35mm/16mm prints; ProRes 422 or H.264 for online program.
